Earlier this year, we announced that Uniqueworks had been invited to make bespoke furniture for Pembroke Castle, birthplace of the founder of the Tudor Dynasty, Henry VII.
Since then, the planks of native Welsh oak have been seasoning and drying in readiness for the project.
Work has now begun on crafting the new suite of tables and benches for the Castle Cafe, in keeping with the Castle’s heritage. Jake Humphries, our cabinet-maker at Uniqueworks, is using wood-jointing techniques which would have been not unfamiliar to the Tudor craftsmen who built the Castle.
Here are a few photos of work in progress.
Furniture for the project will be installed and can be viewed at the Castle, later in the year.
